Welcome to my new website! In this article I’d like to tell you about the thought behind the design. First of all I’d like to thank Studio Jantasie for designing my logo. I’d also like to thank my website hero Jarno de Vries for all the help with setting up/coding/changing/fixing the website. I couldn’t have done it without you two!

Composition VIII – Kandinsky

About the design
As a composer and musician I sometimes get inspired by the way artists and painters express themselves through their own art.  I don’t have this with every artist, but some of them just get stuck in my head. One of these artists is Wassily Kandinsky. He’s a expressionist/symbolist from Moscow. The design of my logo was actually inspired by his work. The use of primary colors and the musicality that his work shows give me energy every time I watch it.The thing that strikes me most is the use of basic shapes, like circles, squares and triangles.
This can be found in my logo too. The little accent on top of the ‘i’ is a motif that comes back throughout the website and also in my favicon. I find it to be very musical, because in a way it represents an musical accent. The one you would find on top of a note in a musical score.
